On 20th July I had the pleasure to work on a summer event for the MacIntyre charity in Ellesmere Port, they work with the disabled and people with learning difficulties, doing their very best to provide a normal life for these individuals. Needless to say it was a humbling experience where I've had the chance to meet some wonderful people that take the 1939 motto of "keep calm and carry on" to an entire new level.
By photographing their event, I worked to capture the very human essence in these wonderful people, I wanted to their families, friends and others to see that they are people with desires, goals and emotions like everyone else, they have their dignity intact regardless of the circumstances they find themselves in.
I've had very positive feedback from the charity, and I'm just thrilled that the families enjoyed the results. Hopefully it will set the seed for having some great memories of that day every time they look at the photos.
